About Us

Zalfa Farah, the founder of Keys’n Cords, was just a girl born with a musical ear into a business minded family. She found her connection through her father’s religious love for music, from there her passion for music was ignited.

At a very young age Zalfa understood how music can bridge together different worlds. Over the years she cultivated her talent as a soloist and used her voice as a musical form of expression.

Zalfa went on to major in Sociology/Anthropology from the American University of Beirut, and Masters of Science in Communication from the University of Amsterdam.

Zalfa took what she learned along with what she loved and traveled to Ghana. There she volunteered at an orphanage where she brought music, dance, and art to children who craved a connection to a world that rejected them. This experience paved the path for the creation of what would later become known as Keys’n Cords Music Academy.

Keys’n Cords Music Academy was established in June 2014. Affiliated with Trinity College London, degreed faculty members teach private music instruction to students of all ages. The reputation of Keys’n Cords is one of quality instruction and careful attention to each individual student, as such a specialized program in music therapy was created for students with special needs.

Dr. Reem Deeb holds two Doctorates of Music with a specialization in Voice Performance, History and Literature, and minors in Music Education and Choral Conducting from the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Bloomington, USA. She also holds a Music Therapy certificate from Roehampton University, London, UK. And in 2019, Dr. Deeb completed a business diploma in Strategic Business and Leadership.

Lecturer of music at the American University of Beirut and the Lebanese American University, Deeb is also an acclaimed voice teacher who coaches in Lebanon and abroad. She is a choir director and associate organist at the National Evangelical Church of Beirut.

Dr. Deeb has performed extensively in the United States, the Middle East and Europe.

Her repertoire includes several recitals, oratorio, opera and musical theatre roles, as well as productions.

Local and international performances include collaborations with well-renowned organist Naji Hakim, conductor Robert Wickham, soprano Deborah Roberts, alto Caroline Trevor, tenor Tom Philips and conductor Peter Phillips of Tallis Scholars amongst others. She is also a member of American honour society for music professionals Pi Kappa Lambda.
